Almost perfect day for Arsenal in race for top 4

The Premier League title race is a two horse race for quite some time now, but the race for a top 4 finish changes every single week. Teams like Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United were in the middle of a top 4 race for a while, but they look to be out of it at this moment in time. Chelsea was dragged back into a top 4 race, giving away their lead on the third place. A few wins could secure the third place for Chelsea. Which only leaves Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in the race for the 4th spot. In this article we discuss the results of these three teams today. And how it affects the Premier League table.

Arsenal versus Manchester United

The match between Arsenal and Manchester United was always going to be a vital one in the race for a top 4 position. Manchester United had the opportunity to get completely back in the race for the top 4, while Arsenal could basically knock Man United out of the race. Arsenal opened the score early in the match and never gave their advantage away in the match. They had to thank Bruno Fernandes for that, who missed a penalty on a 2-1 score. A great strike by Granit Xhaka led to a 3-1 victory for Arsenal. The Gunners are now 6 points ahead of Man United and have a spare match to play. It is very unlikely that Man United can come back into the top 4 race at this moment.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur saw their North-London rivals beating Man United and could draw level on points with Arsenal. Their game against Brentford wasn’t the most exciting one. Both teams failed to get anything substantial. A 0-0 draw was the final result, which put Tottenham Hotspur two points behind Arsenal. On the twelth of May both teams face each other at Tottenham Hotspur stadium. This match is going to be very important and probably the deciding factor. Tickets for this match are still available.
