Chelsea takes the lead
The battle between these team was quite equal at the start. Around the 30th minute, Thiago Silva scored the 0-1 for Chelsea out of a corner. A goal that usually helps Chelsea settling in and getting a result. About 10 minutes after the 0-1, Jorginho passed the ball back to Mendy, who was covered by Bowen. Bowen took the ball and Mendy fouled him. The referee had no other option than giving a penalty. Manuel Lanzini stepped up and scored the equaliser from the spot. Only minutes later, Ziyech gave the perfect ball on Mount who got his team back in the lead again.

Late decider
Ten minutes in the second half, James Bowen got everything level again. A goal that made this match very interesting. Chelsea was the better team, but they couldn’t get it over the line. When everybody pretty much settled for a draw, Arthur Masuaku made an attempt to score. On a strong way is ball ended behind Mendy in the Chelsea goal in the 87th minute of the game. The first time West Ham took the lead in this match, came so late it was hard for Chelsea to do anything back. Even their main striker didn’t had the chance to get his team level again. It was enough for West Ham to get the three points and close the gap with Chelsea to 6 points. Later today Liverpool and Manchester City can take the lead in the Premier League thanks to Chelsea’s defeat.
