Arsenal have not been getting good results recently and have only won one game in the last six in the league, which was a narrow 1-0 home win to Bournemouth. Their latest loss was against Leicester and leaves them in 6th place, a whopping 17 points behind leaders Liverpool and eight points behind the top four.
Things have not been going well for Emery and his side. Xhaka was booed off by the Arsenal fans and walked off the pitch angrily. He has since been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy with Aubameyang replacing him as captain for the moment.
Pepe was supposed to be Arsenal's golden signing of the summer and help solve their problem of the right-wing. However, since his arrival, he has only contributed to one goal from a penalty and two assists in 11 matches, which is quite a low return for a 70-million-pound player. Granted he might need more time to adapt to the Premier League after switching for Ligue 1, but the Arsenal fans are starting to get a little impatient with their record signing.
Lacazette has also not been producing the goods since his return from injury and their attacking players have not been nearly as good as last season, which is a worry considering their shaky defense. Arsenal’s next four matches are against teams in the bottom half of the table and they are expected to win all four of those matches. After that, they face the champions at home and will be hoping that they can have gained some confidence and from by then.
Emery has been feeling the pressure and there were even rumors that he was going to get sacked and replaced by Mourinho. However, the club has come out and given support to their manager which I am sure is a relief for him. If the results don’t change soon though then the club will probably start considering other alternatives.
